The United Methodist Women
(UMW) Purpose
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Who can be a
member of UMW?
Any woman who chooses to belong and commits herself to the UMW purpose.
What is UMW all about?
The main focus of United Methodist Women, who are approximately one million women worldwide, is support of ministries that address the needs of WOMEN, CHILDREN, and YOUTH.
Centennial UMW provides support to local, national, and international missions by giving approximately $10,000 per year.

They meet for fellowship and spiritual growth through study and prayer, and to support our mission causes. There are four “circle” group who meet once a month, as well as members at large who participate in various events and small special interest groups.

Hannah Circle:
A luncheon circle that meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Church Lounge at 12:00 PM.

Lois/Rebecca Circle:
A morning circle that meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month in members’ homes or at Centennial at 9:30 AM.

Ruth Circle:
An evening circle that meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month in members’ homes at 7:00 PM.

Sarah Circle:
A morning circle for fun and study that meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Church Lounge from 9:30-11:00 AM.

Lydia Circle:
Members at-large

A national mission in Minnesota is Emma Norton Services. Emma Norton Residence, located in St. Paul, is a transitional housing service for women coming from mental health or addiction programs. Emma’s Place is 13 townhomes where women can live with their children. To learn more about Emma Norton, see the website www.emmanorton.org.

Books for a Buck
This group sells books to support various missions after AM worship services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. Contact Amy Mammen at 651-636-9650

5C's Reading Group
Meets three times a year (in January, April, and October) from 9:30-11:00 AM on Mondays in the Church Lounge. Readings from UMW reading list are shared. Contact Bonnie Eidman at 651-644-5094

Prayer Chain

Covenant Group

Each year, UMW focuses of three areas of study. In 2012, the three studies are:

Geographic: Haiti: Challenges and Hope

Spiritual Growth: Coming out on the side of Grace: Reconciliation

Topical: Joy to the World: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity
