United Methodist Women (UMW)

U.M.W. is an organization of Methodist women which is open to all church women. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of most months to provide an opportunity for fellowship and learning through a variety of programs. Small groups (circles) of UMW women also meet as scheduled each month. Please see Sunday bulletins, The Centinel, the UMW bulletin board by the library, and other announcements concerning UMW programs. We welcome all church women to join us in our many activities!

United Methodist Women (UMW) shall be a community of women:

• whose purpose is to know God
• and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ;
• to develop a creative, supportive fellowship;
• and to expand concepts of mission through participation
• in the global ministries of the church.

• who finds meaning in her church and is drawn to its fellowship,
• whose life is packed full of activity and obligations,
• who struggles with loneliness or a sense of failure,
• who juggles jobs and family, and tries to be faithful to both,
• who wants to combine classroom study with significant fellowship and outreach opportunities,
• who seems overburdened with the traditional woman's role of care giver,
• who feels she has gifts which are wasted or undeveloped,
• who wants to be accepted for who she is,
• who needs a supportive community to affirm her own sense of purpose and commitment to God...

We invite you to membership in United Methodist Women. We meet on the first Thursday of each month for fellowship and programs. We also meet in small "circles" on different dates each month (see below) or check the UMW Bulletin board by the Library.

The UMW is in joint ministry with the Parish Nurse on the Prayer Shawl Ministry. This is a new ministry for men, women and youth of all ages. Check out the Prayer Shawl Ministry fliers at the Welcome Center.

Circles of Centennial

Hannah Circle: A study circle which meets on the third Thursday of the month at 12:00 noon in the church Lounge.

Lois/Rebecca Circle: A study circle which meets on the third Thursday of the month at 9:30 AM in members' homes.

Ruth Circle: A study circle which meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in members' homes.

Sarah Circle: A fun, study, and service circle which meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 9:30 AM in the church Lounge.
