Parish Nurse Ministry

The Parish Nurse Ministry continues as a partnership with Lyngblomsten. The Parish Nurse Program includes educational programming, blood pressure screening twice a month and visitation. The Parish Nurse also facilitates the Caregivers Support Group once a month and provides support to the Red Robin Preschool in the area of infection control, blood borne pathogen education, and emergency procedure review.

The Parish Nurse provides phone calls and/or visitation to members post-hospitalization as needed, assistance with health counseling, resource, and referral. The Parish Nurse also participates and assists with planning for the quarterly healing services with the Pastors and staff. Health offerings include a fall and spring AAA Driver Improvement Program, the annual Health Fair co-sponsored by the Health and Wellness Committee, and various other programs or educational offerings. The Parish Nurse has weekly office hours and provides health education and information in the "Parish Nurse Corner" published bi-weekly in the Centinel.

The goal of the Parish Nurse Ministry is to provide a wholistic approach, body, mind and spirit, to meeting the needs of members of the CUMC faith community. Other Parish Nurse supported ministries are Care Team Ministry and The Gathering.
