Julia Nordling

Julia Nordling has been a member of Centennial United Methodist Church since 1993.  She is a graduate of Minneapolis Community College and has worked in a variety of hospital settings. After completing course work at the Parish Nurse Center she became the parish nurse in March, 2006.  She is affiliated with the Faith Community Nurse Network and the Minnesota United Methodist Parish Nurse Association.

She lives in Roseville with her husband Brian and two sons, Kyle and Christopher.   Her interests include reading, gardening, word puzzles, bird watching and walking with her golden retriever, Blue.

Parish Nurse Ministry

The Parish Nurse Ministry is celebrating 15 years of service to the members of Centennial in 2008. Our affiliation with Lyngblomsten (since 1998) continues to allow us to provide quality educational opportunities and compassionate care to our parishioners.

The Parish Nurse coordinates educational programs such as the twice yearly AAA Driver Improvement course, Preparing for the Future (an End of Life series), promotes the annual Health Fair, co-sponsored with the Health and Wellness Committee and facilitates the monthly Diabetes Support Group. Other health offerings include twice monthly blood pressure screenings and arranging the yearly flu shot clinic.

Duties of the parish nurse include providing phone calls and/or visits to hospitalized and homebound parishioners, planning  healing services with the pastors, offering health counseling, assistance with community resources and referrals as needed.

The Parish Nurse has weekly office hours and provides health education and information monthly in the Centinel.

 Meeting the needs of the Centennial faith community through mind, body and spirit is the goal of this ministry. The Care Team, The Gathering (respite care for caregivers of memory impaired persons) and the BeFriender Ministry all work to accomplish this goal.
