Committees

Centennial is governed by the Church Council, which is tasked with providing leadership. Committees answer to the Church Council and are responsible for various areas of programming, goverance, maintainence, and staff development.

We are always looking for people who will share their talents with these committees. If interested in serving on a committee, please contact the committee chair or the church using the contact information at the bottom of this page.

Church Council
The Church Council provides for the planning and implementing of the mission and ministry of the local church. It initiates planning, establishes objectives, adopts goals, authorizes action, determines policy, receives reports, evaluates the church’s ministries, and reviews the mission and ministry of the church. The Church Council is amenable to and functions as the administrative agency of the charge conference.

Church and Society

Committee on Lay Leadership
The Committee on Lay Membership guides the Church Council on volunteer personnel matters and recruits, supports, and recognizes leaders and provides for their training so as to coordinate the leadership and service needs with the personnel of the congregation. It works in relationship to the committees of the Church Council in both its nominations and personnel guidance.

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is responsible for the Church's website and much of our external advertising.

CUMC Foundation
The CUMC Foundation is chartered to receive and administer special gifts and bequests to enhance and extend the Christian outreach of Centennial Church. It receives, invests and manages these special funds and endowments to support Christian education scholarships; special projects, services and facilities and to carry donor wishes in extending the outreach of the church.

Disaster Preparedness Response Team

FaithWalk Ministry Team
The FaithWalk Ministry Team will encourage faith formation of the people of Centennial Church by planning, coordinating, and supporting opportunities for Christian education. Several committees are a part of this team.

Nurture Ministry Team
The Nurture Ministry Team promotes spiritual growth by caring for the social, physical and emotional needs of the people of Centennial Church. Committees which are a part of this team include Care Team Ministry, Faith Formation, Health and Wellness, Food Service, Records and History.

Finance Ministry Team
The Finance Ministry Team compiles annually a complete budget for the local church and submits it to the Church Council for review and adoption. It is charged with responsibility for developing and implementing plans that will raise sufficient income to meet the budget adopted by the Church Council. It monitors the financial condition of the church on a monthly basis and encourages stewardship of financial resources.

Outreach Ministry Team
The Outreach Ministry Team develops and supports ministries beyond Centennial Church. Committees that are a part of this team include Evangelism, Missions, Church and Society, and Ecumenical Relations.

Red Robin Preschool Board
The Red Robin Preschool Board of Directors helps determine the policies of the preschool. There are a variety of opportunities for Centennial members to serve on this board. Publicity, finance, fundraising, and financial aid are some of these areas.

Staff Parish Relations Committee
The Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) supports the staff of the church in their respective ministries. SPRC acts as a liaison between the staff and members of the church body in order to maintain a positive relationship and balances the mission of the church with the skills, talents and commitment of those in ministry.

Trustees
The Board of Trustees has the supervision, oversight, and care of all real property owned by Centennial Church and of all property and equipment acquired directly Centennial or by any group within the church.

Visual Arts Ministry Team

Worship/Music Ministry Team
The purpose of the Worship/Music Ministry Team is to aid all within the congregation to understand the meaning, purpose and practice of worship and the role of music in worship and in the program of the church.

Youth Council
The Youth Council develops and administers a challenging and interesting Christian youth fellowship and service program.

Young Adult Ministry Team
The Young Adult Ministry Team Coordinates and facilitates the various activites of the Young Adult Ministry.
